WW1 Battlefields 2017
Banff Academy WWI Battlefields Tour: Sunday 25th Friday 30th June 2017.
The Battlefields trip is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience the history of The Great War.
The trip is running towards the end of the 2017 summer term, leaving school on Sunday 25th June and returning on Friday 30th June. The cost of the trip will be £480 per pupil. The cost of the trip includes travel, accommodation, a guide, entry fees to museums and meals.
Depart school at approx 5:30 am
Drive to Hull for ferry to Zeebrugge
Shared cabins. Dinner and breakfast provided.
Full day excursion to southern lip of Ypres Salient.
Messines, Pool of Peace, Sanctuary Wood,
Hooge Crater, Menin Road, Hill 60
Full day visit to France and the Somme battlefields.
Beaumont Hamel, Thiepval, Ulster Tower, La Boisselle,
Pozieres Ridge, Vimy Ridge.
Full day excursion to northern lip of Ypres Salient.
Essex Farm, Poelkapelle, Passchaendale,
Tyne Cot, Langemark, Last Post Ceremony Menin Gate.
Leave hotel/youth hostel 09.00
Day visit to Brugges.
Ferry from Zeebrugge to Hull.
Share cabins, dinner and breakfast.
Arrive Hull 9am. Arrive school approx. 6:30pm.
